  • Wicky Tempts fate...

OK, so I'm feeding my flock and the Jehovah's Witnesses come up with their literature for me. (feeding my flock - get it?!  Do I crack you up as much as I do myself?!  Sorry, off track again, sigh.)

And, no shit, the cover title says: "PORNOGRAPHY."  Whoa, this is not what I expected of this religion!

OK, OK, I am a proponent of faithful marriage/relationships and I am not fond of porn, but the whole thing hit my funny bone just so - so I have to play devil's advocate - you understand.

So, curious I checked it out - all in the name of good investigative reporting, mind you.  Here's a sample box in the article (typos are mine, but the weird grammar is all theirs):

They are giving me a choice?  I could pick this apart on both sides (and get lots of folks upset with me) but I'll just let you do that for yourselves.

I don't know about you, but I don't think that any of this stuff changed any minds on the subject.  Again the worst part is that I'm not a fan of porn.  While I'm not knocking the Jehovah's Witnesses, I am making fun of the article that was written.

    ************

Here, I thought prawnography (click for link) was really bad, not silly... only I guess I didn't know how to spell it before.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it.

  •   This is too funny!

  • Did some of this not get copied and pasted? It seems to be missing parts. The sentences don't make sense.

  • @Somefishytales - sorry, fixed (I think).  It's hard to do boxes with this style

  • Still looks the same on my end, prolly a xanga thing LOL,it usually is.

  • @Somefishytales - I'm gonna make it into a .pdf or .jpg file and it should read better.  Thank you for being patient while I try to fix it again!

  • Oh,I see how it reads now.If you read all the orange part seperate from the light blue it makes sense.Weird how some of the light blue carrys over to the orange side.

Even if I believed Jehovah's witnesses were scriptural, how would they think THIS would win converts? Weird.

I've had interesting convos with them and Mormons.I try to show them the error they are following, but they are so brainwashed its not easy.

  • @Somefishytales - fixed again... well, to someone somewhere it made sense and would "show you the error of your ways."  I'm just not one of them.  Thanks for the comment! (and the patience)

  • @wickedgood - Yeah,thats much better.

  • Gotta love the timing. Lets share this at dinner time. Talk about a coversation stopper... I may order the t-shirt and wear it to work and see if the co-workers notice...

  • Now this is funny:)

  • @calimorrison  & @Grannys_Place -  Thank you, please tip your waitstaff and have a great evening!

@Zoz36 - not sure I could bring it up at dinner.  My 13 yo daughter is there too.  I'd love to see the shirt though and add it to my hubby's t-shirt collection.

  • There are artists that love the human body (without clothes) and then there are people who are turned on by visual clues.

I suppose some men need more graphic suggestions than the subtle clues that normal women give.

Since humans live longer than long ago previous generations, maybe there is some leeway with remarriage. I suppose your husband wouldn't mind if you remarried if he died?

People with too much time on their hands tend to think about sex. Keeping busy helps to be distracted from thinking about sex. Having a loyal and faithful partner also helps keep a couple together.

There is no detailed way to keep a marriage happy. Good luck with fate and circumstances.

  • Like you, I could so pick this apart on both ends...

  • funny. (i worked for a couple that were/are J.W.  grrr. although they were good about not proselytizing on the job. we were given lots of personal opinions, criticism and judgment. grrr. of course, all of that could have just been their lovely personalities ;)

and yes, stay off the main pages ;) 'tis much nicer in our little tribal areas ;) IMHO.

  • Seems like there's better ways of getting people to convert to a religion. They lose me at the no celebrating birthdays or holidays anyway. That's before the differences in theology!

  • @PPhilip - I think it's lovely that there are so many differences in people.  Were we all the same, it would be pretty boring.
@ShadesOfAnnie - pick, pick pick... hey!  it's shredded!
@Bels_Kaylar - ty! I use humor to get through dealing with all those lovely personalities...
@Pepin909 - Ha!  We should start our own religion, one that celebrates everyday!  I love having a good reason to have a fete!  As for differences, well, my youngest daughter came from India so we try to look at lots of religions and I haven't really subscribed to just one yet.
